Basically, since this is an open translation, anyone can contribute! I remember hearing that they needed some help doing less literal translations on some of the lines.
Prior to developing Xenoblade, Monolith Soft developed a Diablo-style RPG named Soma Bringer for the Nintendo DS. I've said this before, but Soma Bringer is perhaps the most unfortunate instance of a Japanese game not being localized. It's the first instance of Monolith learning to prioritize gameplay and also their first RPG project under Nintendo.
If you have moderate to advanced knowledge of the japanese language, some extra time, and love all things that are beautiful and kind in this world then help them out! This is a complete translation as far as I know, including story.Overall total completion%: 91.81%And I don't know if this has been brought up either, but there is also a Tales of Innocence translation going on by which is also very extensive, they're even adding in english subtitles to the anime cutscenes. Not an open translation, but the team has already done a Tales of Phantasia PSX translation so they know what they're doing. I did ask about that recently, actually, when I was being spoken to about the Nanashi no Game review I did, but the topic was skipped over. Apparently there are lots of fans of the FM series in the S-E Europe office, but they don't have much faith in its sales potential here. BUT I keep saying that only FM3 was released in the UK and that was a GAME-only exclusive.who knows what might happen now! (btw, sad to see DQIV fail to make the DS Top 50 this week). As for FFIV: The After.definitely sounds like it's coming.
Update on Soma Bringer:It seems scribblewiki is down and won't be coming back for a while, so they have moved the open translation to a new domainThings are progressing smoothly it seems. NPCs are what's bringing the translation down. If you know japanese, please take some time to just translate a line or two.
The total information from the wiki is compiled into a patch almost daily!Total overall completion: 96.01%All around good news because NoA totally dropped the ball on not announcing this.
